AKA oak beans. Medium-plus toast American oak cubes impart higher levels of aromatic sweetness and a campfire/roasted coffee attribute, cooked fruit and a full mouthfeel.
Crafted from air-dried oak staves and fire-toasted by expert coopers in California, oak cubes allow winemakers to impart terrific oak flavor and aroma to wines aged in glass carboys, plastic buckets, or steel tanks. Use a single variety or create your own custom blend of different toasts and woods.
Suggested dose is 2.5 – 3 oz per five gallons; can be added during fermentation or aging. Leave wine in contact with the cubes for a minimum of two to three months.
