For the first time, the Buon Vino Filter has a self-priming pump. Turn it on and it will draw liquid from your carboy or fermenter directly into the pump and through the filter pads, with no siphoning, no fussing around, and no mess! You get brilliantly polished wine in only minutes, and you never have to worry about stopping and starting the filter if you need to: turn it back on and it simply starts where it left off! You can bottle your clear wine with the happy knowledge that it will be stable in the bottle and look great for years to come.
Clear, fined wine is very pretty, and shows well in a glass. But filtered wine has a diamond sparkle to it that catches the eye, and looks more like a commercial wine. It’s the difference between a freshly washed car and a freshly waxed car. Both are great, but one is noticeably more appealing.
Buon Vino Mini-Jet filters use three different grades of pads for increasing levels of polish. Whichever filter pad you use, we strongly recommend using the Buon Vino Mini Jet Pre Screen Filter with your Mini-Jet if your wine contains oak chips or powder, or if it contained grape skins. You will not want to filter or fine any wine that contains solids such as stems or oak chips without pre-filtering first. This will clog the pump and void the warranty.
All small pumps are designed specifically to move liquids with low levels of suspended material, and the small, efficient and easy-to-clean pre-filter helps ensure your pump head maintains maximum efficiency as you filter your delicious wine.
