This introductory class teaches you the basics of making hard cider at home including all the equipment, ingredients, and processes involved. The goal of this class is to give students a technical overview of preparing apple cider or juice for fermentation, how to go about fermenting it, and the post-fermentation processes involved – including conditioning, backsweetening, and packaging. You’ll see how to make a batch of hard cider as we talk our way through the instructions, so that you’ll have the confidence and skills required to craft fine hard cider of your own.
