Tongue Twisters Italian Wine Kits – Master Vintner® Sommelier Select® Two Pack

Tongue Twisters Wine Kit Two Pack

Neb-ee-oh-lo? Monte-pulche-what-now? While the idea behind this two-pack is a bit tongue-in-cheek, this pairing is anything but a gimmick. Instead, it’s a showcase of two classic Italian reds, both elegant and refined. Their names might be a challenge, but you don’t need to know Italian to enjoy them with gusto.

Italian Montepulciano

This classic Italian red wine is bone-dry and smoothly tannic, with a medium-high body, firm acidity, and subtle cherry fruit offset by notes of herbs and mushrooms. Its velvety mouthfeel gets silkier and more elegant with aging, and when fully mature it shows notes of vanilla and tobacco in the finish.

Italian Nebbiolo

The mineral-rich marl soil of Italy’s Piedmont produces grapes with ripe red fruit, deep ruby color, and a scent of rose petals. When drunk young it shows dry, spicy notes and endless red berries. With cellaring the Italians say that it is “like drinking velvet,” for its polished, integrated tannins.
